Helen Ukpabio Deported from UK

'Apostle' Helen Ukpabio, the founder of Liberty Foundation Gospel Ministries based in Calabar, has been deported from the UK by the British government after deeming her presence in the country a risk to youngsters. (Modupe Ariyo is the Executive Director of Africa Unite Against Child Abuse) 

The 'witch hunter' who wrote in her book ‘Unveiling The Mysteries of Witchcraft’, that "If a child under the age of two screams in the night, cries and is always feverish with deteriorating health he or she is a servant of Satan", was deported last week after campaigners called on UK Home Secretary to deport and ban her from the UK for leading the spread of witch hunting in Nigeria, especially amongst children, some of whom have suffered torture and even killed. Helen, who was in the UK on tour to promote her belief in witchcraft and offer help to those ‘under threat’ from the wizardry, was not only deported, there are also reports that she has been banned from entering the UK until further notice.

5 year old killed as gun men attack school staff quarters

Boko Haram men in the early hours of today April 20th attacked the Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS), Yana, killing a 5year old girl and setting some buildings in the staff quaters ablaze. 

The Bauchi State Police spokesperson, DSP Haruna Mohammed while confirming the incident said the gunmen stole a private vehicle belonging to the Principal of the School and also destroyed a bank vault

“Unknown gunmen attacked the staff quarters of GGSS Yana, Shira Local Government Area of Bauchi State, around 2.30am on Sunday. They set the school bus ablaze; and in the process, a five-year-old girl was killed in the fire while they destroyed the vault of a bank,’’ he said

He said a combined team of security forces are on the trail of the attackers.

Has Sinzu/Sauce Kid been arrested? Says it wasn't him in the video

I'm sure some of you have heard the news and seen the video. I didn't carry it before now because I wasn't 100% sure it was really him in the video, even though many are convinced it's him, especially his sworn enemy rapper Godwon, who was one of the first people to share the surveillance video on social media.

For those who don't know what I am talking about, a recent surveillance video was released online showing someone who looked like rapper Sauce Kid/Sinzu perpetrating debit card fraud in Houston. Screen shots above.

The video was posted on a local US website abclocal.go.com and they said authorities were looking for a man wanted for withdrawing money from a victim’s bank account at an ATM in Walgreen’s store on 8535 South Braeswood, Southwest Houston on March 2, 2014.

Sinzu, who has since deleted his instagram page, said he is not the one in the surveillance video. But, (which is also the reason I'm carrying this report now) his real name was published on this website as someone who has either been arrested or being searched for 'fraudulent use of identification, filed by Plano police.'  All may truly not be well with P-Square as their fight gets even messier than we'd thought.
    The news of their breakup went viral yesterday but their publicist, Bayo Adetu debunked the gist, saying it was some handiwork of mischief bloggers.

    And now, a source close to the Okoyes disclosed to Linda Ikeji what actually caused the fight between the brothers and at the moment, there seems to be no hope of reconciliation as Peter had moved his family out of the home he shared with his brothers. They are also at the verge of sharing their properties.

    "Yes they fought this week. Peter even left a mark on Paul's left eye. But the fight wasn't during rehearsal, which rehearsal? Peter has refused to do anything P-Square for weeks now. Forget that he was at his brother's wedding, things are not good between them right now. They were even invited to perform at president Jonathan's wedding but they didn't go. Peter wants out. He said Paul and Jude are sidelining him. That if they push out 200 songs, 199 would be songs Paul did. That people are now calling him a dancer in P-Square. Peter is really angry. He's even the cool and friendly one between the brothers but he is not himself right now. And then he accused his brother Jude of disrespecting his wife. Peter and Jude haven't spoken in weeks.     The worst part is that they have invited lawyer to come and share property o. They want to share everything. The lawyer was at their house I think on Thursday. Peter said no more P-Square joint ventures. You know they own everything together, including a house in Omole, Parkview and Atlanta. Except something is done fast P-Square is about to be finished. But I know that people have been intervening and begging them to reconsider, that they are the biggest musical duo in Africa. Nobody will benefit if they split. The power to make money is in their togetherness.

    It is Jude people are begging to keep the brothers together, but after what he tweeted yesterday, it may truly be over for P-Square. Jude has really tried for his brothers, for him to give up may mean it's over for them.

Abuja - International terrorist, Samantha Lewthwaite, aka 'White Widow' may be responsible for Monday's Nyanya motor park explosion in Abuja, Vanguardreports.

The bombing, U.K sources said may have been a reprisal attack for the death of Lewthwaite’s mentor— al-Shabaab terror chief Makaburi, A. K. A. Sheikh Abubakar Shariff Ahmed two weeks ago.

Lewthwaite was responsible for the siege of the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya, in September last year which left 67 dead and several others injured.

America's most infamous on-again, off-again lovebirds are feuding again, and this report has nothing to do with the alleged Justin Bieber-Selena Gomez sex tape.

At issue instead is her flirting with Orlando Bloom. Seriously.

Both halves of Jelena are notoriously jealous when it comes to either one of them talking - let alone flirting - with other people. Such is the case here.

Justin Bieber, 20, is said to be furious with Selena Gomez, 21, and her interactions with Orlando Bloom, calling her actions "a slap in the face."

Selena and Orlando recently participated in the We Day California conference on March 26, and were seen hamming it up in Instagram photos.

Photos Justin was none too thrilled about, to say the least.

The singer-actress gave an inspiring speech and later, backstage, posed with Orlando and Seth Rogen, who has been one of Justin’s biggest haters.

The picture, posted to her Instagram account, infuriated Justin, who believed she was trying to rankle him, knowing Rogen's disdain for Bieber's antics.Seth does not mince words, telling Watch What Happens Live recently that Bieber is "a piece of s--t" ... and "obnoxious and ungrateful and insincere."

According to a source close to the couple, however, it's not just about Rogen. Justin and Selena have been at each other's throats over mutual insecurities.

“Their drama always starts because they don’t trust each other," the insider laments, adding, "It’s not only Selena that gets jealous ... Justin is just as bad."

"He’s the one that started the latest fight. He accused Selena of flirting with Orlando Bloom. He knows that it bugs Selena when he hangs out with Miley [Cyrus]."

fight against cancer in Kwara, Leah Foundation

The Leah Charity Foundation, an Ilorin, Kwara State based non-governmental organisation has intensified its effort at reducing the incidence of breast and cervical cancers in women through a sensitisation of the women all over the state.
  

 According to the Founding Trustee of the NGO, Mrs. Omolewa Ahmed, who addressed a press conference on the occasion of the World Cancer Day in February, the NGO has “unfolded a massive awareness campaign in every possible media outlets on cancer. There are jingles on radio & TV. We have also secured the collaboration of musical artistes in the state, who have recorded songs which will gain regular air play as a way to alerting our people to the menace of cancer.” Continue...

In addition to this, the Foundation has embarked on sensitisation tours of the 16 local government areas in the state out of which it has covered ten at the moment.

Ahmed who is also the wife of the governor of Kwara State led thousands of volunteers on each of the tours where they visited traditional, religious and market leaders,  “explaining that the disease should no longer be treated as a death sentence or some wickedness imposed by fate. We inspire the hope that everyone in our communities would be his or her sister’s keeper in the renewed war against cancer. We distribute information and educational materials to sensitise Kwarans on the need to embrace voluntary screening and avoid predisposing factors to cancer some of which are habits like alcohol, smoking and lack of exercises.”

To make access easier for women, the organisation has established three screening centres situated at the Adewole Cottage Hospital and Children Specialist Hospital, Centre- Igboro and the Sobi Specialist Hospital while efforts are on to provide more centres across the state.  It has also gone further to establish the Leah Cancer Centre, an ultra-modern facility that provides full blown medical services from counselling to screening and treatment for women within and outside Kwara State. Ahmed said that her organisation is working towards being able to provide every possible form of treatment at the cancer centre although at the moment, the facility has the best equipment to nip cervical cancer in the bud.

She had appealed to women to take advantage of the ultra-modern equipment at the GRA, Ilorin based cancer centre for screening of both breast and cervix at a very highly subsidized rate of N200 (two hundred naira only). The sum of N200, according to Mrs Ahmed, was fixed to take care of the disposables used for the screening. She added that efforts are on to improve the capacity of the centre to treat diagnosed cases.
